  1. I shop at Petsmart because it has a better selection, isn't as expensive and is cleaner. Good luck!

  2. I like Petsmart better, but a small mom and pop store is where I frequent now.

  3. Go to a shelter, they almost always have guinea pigs

  4. www.petfinder.com

  5. Neither. They both buy from breeding mills.

Adopt from a rescue or shelter

  6. I prefer Petsmarts better. The workers there are more attentive, and the prices are a little bit better. They offer more selections than Petco.

  7. Petco! Petsmart has unhealthy animals! Or check meijer and www.craigslist.com

  8. ive found that petsmart stores are cleaner and the staff is more knowledgeable. so i would go with them.

  9. Make sure you do plenty of research on appropriate cages, food, bedding, and toys. Here are some websites that give great information, make sure to bookmark them!

I don't think that it matters, just make sure you take them to the vet to make sure of it's s*x and that it doesn't have any health problems. PetsMart has cute babies here and they are only $32.95. I can't be sure of  how much they are where you are. Don't buy any exercise wheels or balls as they are bad for you pet's spine.

Good luck! It's better to get two and make sure you get heavy ceramic bowls. Plain pellets are better than food that has added dry foods. Make sure you have a big enough cage! =D

P.S Are you sure you don't want to rescue a guinea pig? Think about it = )

  10. well I find petsmart more cleaner however go to both and see the guinea pigs and look at these good signs of health:

    *Clean, bright eyes

    *Full, slightly-rounded body

*Soft fur with no bare patches (hairless area behind each ear is normal)

    *Eats and drinks normally

    *Well-formed droppings with no diarrhea

Here are poor signs of health:

    *Overgrown front teeth

    *Bare patches in the fur

*Diarrhea or discolored droppings for longer than two days

    *Lethargic behavior; seizures or tremors

*Weight loss; not eating or drinking normally

*Sneezing; discharge from the eyes, nose or mouth
