Who agrees? All he did was win on serves and he was definitely NOT interesting or exciting to watch. I am glad he no longer plays.

  1. i would say that his matches were quite boring. too many aces, which just start to feel cheap after awhile, no matter how much talent and effort they require.

  2. He did what he had to do to win. Entertaining the audience wasn't a concern of his. If I were a pro, I'd think the same thing.

  3. I agree 100%. He was boring as h**l to watch. I'm not talking about his personality either, I'm talking about his tennis. He won because of his style, but tennis is an entertainment. Serve and volley is boring and I'm really glad that it is, for the most part, gone.

  4. No way! When do you see guys serving and volleying nowadays besides Mario Ancic and Radek Stepanek? He was great and had excellent moments and points in his career... 2nd best tennis player ever, behind Rod Laver.

  5. No, I disagree. His flying overheads were just genius!!! I haven't seen any other players produce such beautiful overheads! His serve was also very fast and interesting.

  6. Yes, but also borg was too, a base line player - I prefer serve and volley - Andre Aggasis

  7. Hmm...it's between him and Tim Henman.

  8. awwwwwwwwwww nooooooooo he was great!!!!!

  9. yes i agree, he was very talented but it was a bit too easy for him and there was no close shaves or great tense volleys

  10. I agree.

  11. Yeah all he did was serve aces

    Soooooooooo boringg |-)

  12. Agree with previous post - Henman was very boring too. But Sampras is definitely the most boring ever!!

  13. I think so.  I could never tell if he was a sleep or not on the court.

  14. All he did was win on serves?  All he did was win 14 grand slam titles, not only with an almost unbreakable serve, but with unmatched skills at the net, and an athleticism that is still good enough to beat Federer in straight sets in an exhibition late last year.  You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.  You can't win matches, let alone be the year-end #1 player six consecutive years, only by winning on serves, unless every set you play is a tie-breaker, and even then you'd have to get a mini-break on your opponents serve.

  15. no way

  16. Boring guy. Incredible tennis player. he hit all the shots what more do you want? A song and dance between sets?
