Peter Borren eager to spoil Bangladesh party on Monday – ICC World Cup 2011 news
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747’s party as they play the Bengali Tigers in their second last league game without a win in their account in the ongoing ICC World Cup
2011.
“Bangladesh are right in the mix and definitely it will be our intention to ruin the party for them,” said Borren ahead of the day match in Chittagong. “We are positive about it, but we are also very realistic about what will happen. In
these conditions Bangladesh are obviously a very tough team to beat.”
The Dutch would have nothing to lose as they take on Bangladesh in a Group B clash at the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zahur-Ahmed-c98518 Chowdhury stadium on Monday. However, a victory for the tournament co-hosts would improve their chances of qualifying for the quarterfinals.
Netherlands have so far played against the tougher teams of the tournament including http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760. Borren said that they are improving steadily and was hopeful his side will play well against Bangladesh.
“We played well against England and I think we competed against India, with two disappointing performances against South Africa and West Indies in between. If we can win the last two games, we'd be happy with that,” said Borren.
A defeat for England against West Indies would give Bangladesh some chances of making the quarterfinals but for that, the Bengali Tigers would have to defeat the Dutch at any cost on Monday.
Bangladesh’s run rate is also not encouraging and the team coach Jamie Siddons said that the wickets in Bangladesh are not as batting-friendly as India’s and this was the reason that the side could not maintain a good scoring rate.
He however said that the Tigers have defeated England- a team that tied with India and defeated South Africa- and was hopeful his team would perform well in the next two games and make it to the last eight of the tournament.
Siddons further added that although the Dutch would enter winless in Monday’s game but they would not take them lightly.
