Peter Crouch determined to fight for place in England team
Tottenham striker Peter Crouch has said that he will continue to serve Fabio Capello's England team despite failing to advance in the Italian's pecking order.
Crouch, who came on for Steven Gerrard in England's friendly encounter with France on Wednesday 17 November, marked his appearance with a goal to reduce England's deficit to 2–1.
The striker has scored five goals in as many European appearances for Spurs this season, but has only featured in one of England's three Euro 2012 qualifying games.
At the World Cup in June, Crouch made a mere two substitute appearances for Capello as Emile Heskey and then Jermain Defoe were preferred by the manager.

"Throughout my England career it's been the same," Crouch said after the game. "I always seem to be the last resort but, when called upon, I'll try to do as well as I can. I wasn't sure I'd get on at one stage on Wednesday but, when you're on the bench and
you get the nod, you have to make an impact and the biggest impact you can have is to score."
Capello silent on Crouch's role
Crouch, who joined Tottenham from Portsmouth in the summer of 2009, added that Capello has yet to reveal how how intends to deploy the striker in the future.
"The manager hasn't spoken to me about my role. I've always said that the manager's decisions are his decisions. All I can do is, when given minutes on the pitch, try to make an impact. Hopefully I've done that and given him something to think about."
Despite the uncertainty of his situation, the 29-year-old said he had no plans of ending his international career.
"I'll not give up. I've had some fantastic times with England. I've been in and around it now for five years and enjoyed every minute. Whenever I've been called up I don't think I've ever let anyone down, and I'll continue to do that."
