Peter Crouch insists clash against Manchester City in the League will be Champions League decider: EPL News
Tottenham's Hotspur striker, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Peter-Crouch-c29741, has insisted that the clash against Manchester City in the Premier League will decide, which team qualifies for the Champions league next year.
Tottenham Hotspur are currently in fifth place and are two points behind the Citizens with six games to go in the season. Both teams will face each other on May 10 at the City of Manchester Stadium which could well decide the qualification
fate for Europe’s elite competition.
Crouch revealed that the race to finish fourth is still not over and Roberto Mancini’s side will be under a lot of pressure after their heavy spending throughout the season. He stated that his side have shown that they can compete
at the highest level in their maiden campaign in the Champions League and will give their all to repeat the success next season.
The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 forward claimed that the battle could go down to the wire and the clash at Eastlands could make the difference for both the sides.
“They are probably under more pressure than we are. But that doesn’t mean we’ve got any less desire to get in. We have probably got a bit more freedom but there is pressure on us because we’ve loved every minute of being in the Champions
League. We’ve proved we can play against the best and that’s where we want to be again,” the striker was quoted as saying.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international also rued missed opportunities against the smaller teams and admitted that the club has dropped too many points against clubs in the bottom-half of the table. The forward added that the Spurs have been brilliant
against the top sides in the past few seasons, but they have to be more consistent against other teams also.
“Against the top teams we’ve been magnificent for a couple of years. But if you want to have any aspirations to win the League, you’ve got to win games against maybe lower teams in the division. And we’ve slipped up a few times this
season. They are the most frustrating points that we’ve dropped,” he concluded.
The 30-year old has scored 11 goals for the Londoners this season in a total of 37 appearances.
