Peter Crouch woes to move one step ahead of Arsenal – Premier League update
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international and Tottenham Hotspur striker, has revealed his desire of finishing the current 2010-11 season above their next door neighbours, Arsenal. The 30-year-old has claimed that Arsenal’s exit from the three competitions during
the last two weeks have left the Gunners disappointed and he plans to take advantage of this slump in Arsenal’s form.
The gunners lost to Birmingham City in the final of the League Cup, last week. They were thumped out of the UEFA Champions League by the Spanish giants, Barcelona and yesterday, they were dumped out of the FA Cup by the Premier League leaders, Manchester
United.
Peter Crouch admitted that Arsenal have enjoyed superiority over Spurs for the past so many years and expressed his delight after going one step ahead of their rivals, by reaching the last eight of the UEFA Champions League, beating the Serie A leaders,
AC Milan in doing so.
“Doing better than Arsenal really does mean something, It is great for the club because they [Arsenal] have been above us for a number of years and now it is so nice to go one step further,” the striker added.
Crouch insisted that Spurs have a great chance of overtaking Arsenal’s second spot in the Premier League, believing that going out of three competitions in two weeks will not do any good to Arsene Wenger’s side, apart from shattering their confidence. “We
have wanted to get as close to Arsenal as possible, they are still ahead of us in the Premier League, but we are getting a lot closer. Soon we will be above them in the league. We have shown resilience many thought we didn’t have,” Crouch said.
The striker insisted that this is Spurs greatest chance of ruling their neighbours, who are certainly wounded after three heart breaking defeats. Tottenham are currently fifth in the League table with forty-eight points and still three points short of the
