Peter Hanson hoping to take advantage of home soil at Nordea Masters – Golf news
Peter Hanson is hoping to make good use of home advantage this week, when he tees off at the Nordea Masters, to be staged at the Bro Hof Slott Golf Club.
The European Tour event is slated to start from May 30, 2013, while offering a total prize fund of €1,500,000 to the participants.
Hanson’s last victory on the home soil came in 2008, and is now again hoping to bring cheers on his fans by contending strongly in Stockholm.
After sitting out of the BMW PGA Championship last week, due to back injury, the Swede star now feels refreshed, and believes that he will be able to give his best in the tournament.
“It’s obviously very nice to come back home so I’m looking forward to the week,” said Hanson.

“I had a decent chance last year, but Lee Westwood was just too good in the end.”
Talking to the European Tour’s official website, he also said that the playing conditions at Bro Hof Slott will be favourable to long hitters. In addition to that, the winds at the course will make it a bit difficult for the players to make accurate shots.
Miguel Angel Jiménez, in the meantime, has said that the course will play really long for him this week. At the same time, no one can rule out the Spaniard star after he recorded a tied fourth finish at the BMW PGA Championship last week, which was his only
second start of the season.
“The golf course is fantastic,” he said. “It’s a beautiful place, although it’s a little bit too long for me. The weather is nice, and it’s nice to play here in a beautiful city like Stockholm.”
Paul Casey is another player who is currently enjoying a great form – he recorded a brilliant 64 in the 36-hole US Open qualifier at Walton Heath, to secure his spot in the second major championship of the season.
“I’ve got a good control of things right now and it’s great to be knowing that the hard work is starting to pay off and there is more to come,” said Casey.
