Peter Hanson hot favourite at the Volvo China Open
Peter Hanson is in the field of the Volvo China Open, with experts regarding him as the hottest contender of the title.
The European Tour staged tournament is about to start, at a new venue, the Binhai Lake Golf Club in Tianjin, China, from April 19 to 22, 2012.
The 34-year-old Swedish professional golf player recorded amazing scores at the Masters Tournament, the first major of the year. He finished tied for the third position with three other players, scoring an 8-under 280.
He played his second Masters this year and amazed the spectators with such enormous scores in the four-day tournament.
His scores in the four rounds were 68, 74, 65 and 73. He shot 20 impressive birdies and displayed an amazing game in the third round of the tournament.
Now, he is heading to play European Tours’ Volvo China Open. Golf experts have selected him as the best in the field, as he has also recorded many top finishes in 2012.
He finished as the runner-up at the Commercialbank Qatar Masters, presented by Dolphin Energy in February. Lately, he secured a T5 position at the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship.
At WGC - Cadillac Championship, he again impressed his new fans by securing the fourth position at the end of the day. He is in his full form and wants to make the current year brighter than ever before.
Hanson turned professional in 1998. He has won four European Tour titles, one Challenge Tour event and recorded five wins at other tournaments.
He has ample chances to grab the title in the coming week. However, he has to face tough rivals, such as Nicolas Colsaerts, Paul Casey, Paul Lawrie, Rafael Cabrera-Bello and Chris Wood.
Colsaerts is the defending champion of the Volvo China Open and is aiming to win back the glory again. His 2011 scores were a 24-under 264, and he bagged €350,946 in total.
Considering the presence of such impressive golf players, the competition has reached a heightened degree and every lose stroke may prove harmful.
Hanson is aiming to win, which is only possible if he delivers his best at the Binhai Lake Golf Club in Tianjin, China.
