Peter Hoeg Gade determined to shine in his last appearance at All England Open Premier Super Series
Denmark’s veteran Peter Hoeg Gade, who is the most experienced Men’s Singles shuttler in the world, is determined to put up strong show in his last appearance at All England Open Premier Super Series 2012, starting from March 6, in England.
The World Number Four Peter, who is the fourth seed in the event, has been playing at international level for almost seventeen years and has collected many titles to prove his worth in the arena of badminton.
Now, the 35-year-old Peter is at the verge of retirement and will stop playing professional badminton after 2012 Olympic Games.
In his last All England Open Peter is expected to display his aggressive approach as he wants to make it a memorable tournament.
Peter, who has been working hard in training sessions for the last couple of months and also skipped Thomas Cup Preliminary Round and German Open Grand Prix Gold, is optimistic to get a good result in the All England Open.
The Danish ace is on safe grounds for Olympic Games as he has a good world ranking and to qualify for the mega event is not a problem for him anymore.
However, he wants to live up to expectations by playing to his maximum potential at the All England Open where all top shuttlers will compete for glory.
He also consumed last three weeks in the preparations for this prestigious tournament.
Peter said, "The first part of my job is done, having qualified nice and early for the Olympics. So I have had three weeks where I've been able just to work towards the All-England.”
He further said, "I have had time to get a feeling of what is good and bad (in my game). Hopefully it will bring a good All-England. I take that as of high importance."
While talking about his top standard of play and excellent fitness even at the age of 35, Peter said that it takes many things to get this level in an older age.
He said, "It's a matter of trying to get the best out of every area, not only on court but off court - how to eat, sleep, and take care of yourself."
In the All England Open, the Danish hero is determined to cheer his fans as he has a huge fan following throughout the world particularly in Europe.
