Peter Kaesbauer and Johanna Goliszewski nail Mixed Doubles title at French International 2012
Germany’s top shuttlers Peter Kaesbauer and Johanna Goliszewski nailed Mixed Doubles title after giving a severe lesson to Malaysia’s Nelson Wei Keat Heg and Mei Kuan Chow in the final encounter of French Open 2012 in France, on Sunday, April 8.
Kaesbauer and Goliszewski, who were top seeded in Mixed Doubles draw of French Open, showed their brilliance and thrashed their Malaysian challengers in an inspiring fashion.
The German coupled put up superb show in front of local crowd and bagged the contest in straight sets by overpowering their rivals in just 24 minutes.
On the other hand, Nelson Wei and Mei Kuan could not produce better form against the spirited German shuttlers and lost the final match without creating a powerful impact.
In the opening game, Kaesbauer and Goliszewski started their run in a positive and dominating manner as they played attacking badminton from the starting points and managed to set up a remarkable lead.
In the meanwhile, the Malaysians shuttlers failed to stop the aggression of their opponents as they could not put up strong defence to the power play of their higher ranked German rivals and remained behind until the break.
After the interval, Kaesbauer and Goliszewski were on the right track as they did not let their lower ranked Malaysian opponents to reduce the difference at any stage.
The German couple played flawless badminton in the entire opening set and won it with a fabulous 21-12 score on the board.
In the second game, Nelson Wei and Mei Kuan tried to show their brilliance in starting points but failed to dictate the pace of rallies as their opponents were quicker in all areas of the court.
Kaesbauer and Goliszewski took a wonderful lead until the mid-game interval in the second set.
After the break, Kaesbauer and Goliszewski continued dominating the pace of rallies and did not spare any chance for the Malaysians to fight back in the game.
The German shuttlers bagged the second game in a striking manner with a 21-11 score on the board.
Kaesbauer and Goliszewski won the title match in a one-sided fashion by a superb margin of 21-12 and 21-11.
