Peter Kaesbauer and Josche Zurwonne win Men’s Doubles crown at French International 2012
Germany’s ace shuttlers Peter Kaesbauer and Josche Zurwonne proved their elite skills when they won the Men’s Doubles title at the French International 2012 on Sunday, April 8, in France.
In the title match, Kaesbauer and Zurwonne put up spectacular show of fast badminton and managed to win against their team-mates Andreas Heinz and Max Schwenger with a close margin.
The top seeds Kaesbauer and Zurwonne showed their elevated class in the arena by employing all of their skills and overpowered Andreas and Max, who were the fourth seeds in the Men’s Doubles main draw of the championship.
Kaesbauer and Zurwonne had to dig deep into their reserves to chuck out their compatriots in a thrilling rubber-set encounter that took 64 minutes from both pairs.
On the other hand, Andreas and Max remained unlucky as they lost the opening game with a tight margin and fought back in the second game and won it. However, they failed to dictate the pace in deciding game and lost the contest.
In the opening set, Kaesbauer and Zurwonne played to their full potential but failed to manage lead as their lower ranked team-mates were also impressive in the court.
Until the break, both pairs remained toe-to-toe on the board as no side could take a strong position in the match.
After the interval, they continued entertaining crowd while remaining equal on the board until the score reached at 24-24.
At this dramatic stage, Kaesbauer and Zurwonne remained lucky as they managed to score two points in a row and won the set with a margin of 26-24.
In the second game, the lower ranked Andreas and Max became quicker from the opening points and remained in commanding position in the opening set.
After the break, Kaesbauer and Zurwonne tried to dominate the pace but made many errors and eventually lost the game by a 17-21 score on the board.
In the final set, Kaesbauer and Zurwonne were in complete control of the game as they dominated the pace in the entire game and ended it with an impressive margin of 21-11.
The higher ranked Kaesbauer and Zurwonne won this title match in 64 minutes with a 26-24, 17-21 and 21-11 score on the board.
