Peter Lines’ son Oliver Lines all set for 2012 World Junior Under-21 Snooker Championships
Snooker governing body, World Snooker, supervises many initiatives on the junior level where they feature this emerging snooker generation which would be top guns of the game in future. Next month, one of these junior level initiatives by the World Snooker,
the 2012 World Junior Under-21 Snooker Championship will commence in China featuring youngsters at the baize.
World Snooker professional potter, England’s Peter Lines will be happy to watch his 16-year-old son, Oliver Lines playing in the 2012 World Junior Under-21 Snooker Championship. He has been coaching his son for quite a while and has taught him all tips and
tricks of the game. Like father like son, the youngster is aiming to make it on top of the tournament and initiate his pro career in the next season.
On the other hand, Lines is determined to make his son one of the leading potters in the future. He is ecstatic because Lines junior will be the youngest ever to appear in the 2012 World Junior Under-21 Snooker Championship. Both father and son practice
together at the baize and Lines senior believes playing in major events will be a great experience for his son.
While speaking to the local media, Lines senior said, “We do practice together, although probably not as much as people would think. People know what sons are like, they don’t want to listen to anything their dad tells them! Oliver will be one of the youngest
over in China.”
He added, “There are three going over from England who have qualified, but the others are both 20 and Oliver is just 16. It will be great experience for him and hopefully he’ll do well. After all those hours of practice, it’s worthwhile when you qualify
for something decent and he’s absolutely buzzing at being able to go to China. He’s doing very well and improving.”
In the recent years, the game of snooker has seen many young lads who have made a superb debut in different snooker tournaments of previous couple of seasons. Recently in the 2012 World Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, the world
witnessed a Belgian youngster Luca Brecel making his debut entry at the Crucible and became the youngest potter to appear at the venue.
