Peter Mueller ready to get back on track with Florida Panthers next season -NHL Update
Peter Mueller was a promising prospect when he entered the league back in 2006 as the eighth overall pick by the Phoenix Coyotes, but unfortunately, the 24-year-old has not been able to effectively make his presence felt ever since his induction.
Due to a number of concussions and other injuries, Mueller was just never really able to lift off from his starting point and is still in the same position now. His first three seasons with Phoenix Coyotes had been normal with 54 points (22 goals, 32 assists)
in 81 games. A lessened performance in the following year with 36 points (13 goals, 23 assists) in 72 games but a real misshape with 17 points (4 goals, 13 assists) in the third.
This forced the Phoenix Coyotes to trade the youngster to Colorado Avalanche, where he thought to get back on track but with a worsening performance, it was hard into wooing the new team after just 20 points in two seasons and less than 50 games.
"I want to play 82 games," said Mueller, according to Sun-Sentinel.com. "There's no doubt I can [match my rookie output]. If I'm in the lineup I'm confident in my abilities and I'm confident that I can help this team win and I'm confident I can make other
people better.”
Now, on a new team, Mueller is ready to get back into action and is willing to play like a rookie again.
"In some aspects I'm like a rookie again, obviously with the past. I'm thrilled to be with all these new faces and everyone's welcomed me with open arms. It's not every day you can play hockey in South Florida," Mueller added.
Reports indicate that Mueller had a warm welcoming in Sunrise, Florida, home of the Florida Panthers, and with an amazing streak last season, Mueller hopes to keep the momentum of the team that once struggled, going and reaching new heights with his optimism
of unlocking that hidden potential once and for all.
It will definitely be interesting to see how the player performs next season and whether or not Florida’s investment pays off.
