Peter Quillin all set to take on veteran Ronald Wright in a non-title 10-round clash - Boxing News
Peter Quillin, the former United States Boxing Organisation super middleweight champion, will enter the ring to take on one of the most toughest test of his career in the form of veteran Ronald Wright, the former WBA Super World and WBC light middleweight
champion, in a 10-round bout which will be held on June 2, 2012.
The bout will be a part of a bout-stacked fight card which is being promoted by the renowned Richard Schaefer of Golden Boy Promotions. The Saturday night showdown will be headlined by the IBO cruiserweight championship bout between Antonio Tarver and Lateef
Kayode.
The event will be co-headlined by WBA World light middleweight championship bout between Austin Trout and Delvin Rodriguez and the ring for the pay-per-view will be set up at Home Depot Center in Carson, California, United States.
Peter recently ended his training session and shared his thoughts about the upcoming engagement during a media interaction. Quillin, 28, is a surging American pugilist who has been in a total 26 bouts.
The young lad has nailed all of his opponents and boasts an undefeated streak. Also known as ‘Kid Chocolate’, Peter has never lost even a single bout and has collected 20 of his total wins by knocking the opponent out cold.
After training under the supervision of one of the best trainer in the world, Freddie Roach, the orthodox pugilist Peter feels somewhat invincible and during the media workout displayed his sheer strength and aggressiveness.
Peter used an artistic scenario to explain his feelings about taking on Ronald and stated, “I will give my fans something to watch they pay to see art and I will paint them the picture they want to see, hopefully we beat Winky Wright and put myself in line
to become world champion. I am in the best shape of my life I have nothing to worry about once I get into the ring with Winky I am ready.”
Quillin might defy the odds since Ronald is making a comeback after a huge time lapse of 37 months. Also known as ‘Winky’, Wright though has more experience than the young Peter yet he will feel rusty during the bout.
It will take a much more effort for the veteran to cope Peter’s pace and agility but once he has achieved and understood Kid’s brawling style Ronald might use his experience to gift the undefeated brawler his career’s first loss.
Ronald has nailed 51 opponents in a total 57 bouts and has nailed 25 men by knockout therefore as far as the stats are concerned there is a huge possibility that Wright might create an upset and make a comeback, a huge pompous one, with a win over an undefeated
pugilist.
