Peter Sagan wins the fourth stage of the Tour de Suisse 2012
Peter Sagan continuous his tremendous run of form after the Slovakian bagged yet another victory at the Tour de Suisse.
He was outstanding during the 188.8 kilometre stage 4 of the Tour de Suisse and claimed the top podium spot.
The cyclist crossed the finish line in a quickest time o f 4 hours, 36 minutes and 55 seconds and bagged his third stage victory at the Swiss race.
Jose Joaquin Rojas of Team Movistar, Michael Albasini of Team Orica GreenEdge, Heinrich Haussler of Team Garmin-Barracuda and Francesco Gavazzi of Team Astana achieved the next four spots.
Sagan thanked his team-mate Moreno Moser for supporting him during the race, “I have to thank Moreno for helping me so much, today the win is thanks to him,” he briefed after crossing the finish line.
He further added, “No win is easy but I’m very happy. I’m very glad that I was able to take the right wheel in the sprint”.
Javier Megias Leal of Team Type 1-Sanofi, Lars Petter Nordhaug of Team Sky Procycling and Peter Sagan of Team Liquigas-Cannondale succeeded during the first, the second and the third sprint of the race.
Brian Vandborg of Team Spidertech Powered BY C10 wins the first and the second mountain of the race while Lars Petter Nordhaug of Team Sky claimed the third climb of the event.
Sagan secured the first, the third and the fourth stages of the Tour De Suisse but his 139th place finish during the second stage is a big hurdle between his overall classifications spot.
Rui Alberto Faria Da Costa of Team Movistar is leading the stage 4 classifications with a healthy lead of 8 seconds over Frank Schleck.
Roman Kreuziger of Team Pro Astana is further 7 seconds behind at the third position with Thibaut Pinot of Team FDJ-Big Mat and Nicolas Roche of Team AG2R La Mondiale holding the fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
Frank Schleck is leading the team’s classifications with a total number of 20 UCI points.
Ryan Andersen of Team Spidertech Powered BY C10 is at the second spot with the same amount of 20 points.
Brian Vandborg of Team Spidertech Powered BY C10, Michael Morkov of Team Saxo Bank and Thomas Danielson of Team Garmin-Barracuda secured the third, the fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
