Peter Schiergen’s charge Danedream all set to compete in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud
It seems that the German-bred, Danedream is headed to France, where she will look to down an important race to add to her already sparkling resume.
The four-year-old filly has her plate full, but she will be going to France to try her luck in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud, which is due to take place on 24th June, 2012.
"We were pleased to see her back and she will run in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud on June 24.”
Trainer Peter Schiergen is keeping options open for his globe-trotting filly, and she might participate in either the King George VI, or the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, at the Royal Ascot later in the season.
The daughter of Lomitas, out of mare Danedrop, sealed a magnificent victory in the Group 1 Qatar Prix De L'Arc De Triomphe, which took place at Longchamp on 2nd October, 2011.
Teamed with jockey A. Starke, she made steady headway on the track, and defeated the A De Royer-Dupre trained, Shareta, by a margin of 5 lengths. With this victory, she became the first German-trained runner to land this race, which is an achievement
in itself, because many came and failed.
The bay filly finished in sixth place in the Grade 1 Japan Cup at Tokyo on 27th
November, 2011, but she quickly bounced back and came back strong in her seasonal debut.
The Gestut Burg Eberstein and T. Yoshida owned runner began this year with a stunning victory, as she raced as a favourite with a 2-5 shot in the Group 2 Grosser Preis Der Badischen Unternehmer at Baden-Baden on 20th May, 2012,
where she defeated, Ovambo Queen, by a slim margin of ¾ of a length.
The young runner does not lack any talent, as she has secured six victories in fourteen starts.
Whelped on 1st January, 2008, Danedream competed in the Prix Constructions HR Rene Hemmerle at Wissembourg on 20th June, 2010, which served as her maiden.
With jockey Stephane Breux on her back, she notched the victory in a grand fashion, 2 ½ lengths ahead of Kirolus.
