The promising Australian fast bowler, Peter Siddle, feels selectors' decision of dropping him for the Sri Lanka tour eventually turned out to be a blessing in disguise, as it forced the right-arm medium pacer to work hard and make a comeback as a better
and fitter bowler.
Speaking to the media on Tuesday, the 27-year-old Victorian pacer said that the last five to six years were quite tough for him, as most of the time he was up and down with injuries. However he said what prompted him to work hard and make a strong comeback
into the national side was the disappointment of getting dropped from the squad for the Sri Lanka tour last year.
“I think the disappointment of getting dropped in Sri Lanka sort of did hit a bit of a spot in me, and I knew I had to work on a few things,” said Siddle speaking to the reporters ahead of the third Test of the four-match series
against India starting at Perth on Friday, January 13, 2012.
"Ever since then I've been a bit stronger, and bowling well and injury-free. Everything I'm doing at training and in preparation for games is working, so I'll http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Adrian-Roger-Kirshaw-Pierson-c42135 to that and hopefully I can keep going well for my team and we
keep winning Test matches," the rejuvenated pacer added further.
Siddle has been outstanding with the ball in the first two Tests of the ongoing home series against India, and has 11 wickets in his name from four innings at an average of 22.54. Only http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BW-Hilfenhaus-c1204 has more wickets than him in
the ongoing series.
Siddle debuted for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in Mohali and has so far played 29 matches picking up 102 wickets, including four five-wicket hauls as well.
The Victorian claimed his 100th Test wicket at Sydney last week and termed it as a big achievement of his career; however, he vowed that he would not stop here.
"I want to keep taking wickets and whether that's a 110 or a 150 or 300, you never know but at the moment I just want to keep playing Test matches, staying on the park and keep performing well for my team,” said the right-arm medium
pacer.
