http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s fast bowler, Peter Siddle, is not too disappointed to be labelled as a Test specialist, taking into account the upcoming hectic schedule of international cricket and admitted that it is hard for any fast bowler to consistently
play in the sport’s all three formats.
The Baggy Greens struggled in the bowling department after the retirement of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shane-Keith-Warne-c89672, which is primarily the reason why they failed to maintain their supremacy in international cricket in the last
five years.
Over the previous 24 months however, a number of fast bowlers have proved their mettle in international cricket including Siddle, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Pattinson-c1653.
Considering the rigors of international cricket and the workload for the fast bowlers, the Australian selectors have been using their speedsters very carefully, rotating them in every series.
Since making his Test debut in 2008, the Victorian has picked up more than a hundred scalps, having the ability to bowl long spells at good pace. In order to prolong Siddle’s career in the five-day format, the selectors have not picked
him in the limited-over squad for almost two years now.
The 27-year-old cricketer expressed his desire to represent his country in the coloured kits as well but he completely understands the reason why he has been restricted to Tests only.
"I want to play one-day cricket, but there's a lot at stake at the moment for the Test team, with the 18 months we've got coming up, it's going to be very busy,” said the fast bowler. "I think we've got about 20 Tests in that time,
so there's a lot of cricket to be played, and to get back to No. 1 we need to be ready, we need to be fresh and playing some consistent cricket.”
With a number of important series coming up, Siddle is geared up to deliver the goods for Australia and hopes to remain fit.
“You'd like to play all forms, but the amount of cricket that gets played now it is hard to fit all that in as one player,” Siddle mentioned.
The fast bowler played his last first-class mach earlier this month against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865.
