Peter Siddle should have been played at Perth, feels http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Brett-Lee-c48419 – Cricket News Update
Disappointed after Australia’s loss in the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/PM-Siddle-c2197 should not have
been rested for the Perth Test.
The first two matches of the three-match series, at Brisbane and Adelaide, were dominated by the home team; however, the Proteas bounced back in the last fixture of the tour at Perth, dismantling the Kangaroos by a comprehensive margin
of 309 runs.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 had a great chance of regaining the number one ranking in Test cricket but the tourists held on to their nerves and retained their supremacy.

The two fast bowlers delivered 67 overs in South Africa’s second innings and were rested for the Perth Test as a result, with the Aussie selectors not willing to risk their fast bowlers’ fitness.
Lee however, does not agree with the strategy and feels that Siddle should have been played in the decisive fixture, the right-arm pacer being at the top of his game.
The former Australian fast bowler expressed, “If I was Sidds (Siddle), I would have been blowing up. He bowled so well in Adelaide. They say it's because of back-to-back matches but that's Test cricket. It's nothing to do with the planning.”
Australia’s ex-spearhead firmly believes that Test cricket examines the physical and mental strength of a player and rotating the speedsters is not the solution of the hectic international schedules. Lee thinks that Siddle would have
loved to bowl on a bouncy track like Perth.
“That's what Test cricket is about; a test of character, a test of courage and backing up within a couple of days. If you're Peter Siddle and you see http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mitchell-Aaron-Starc-c76392 come in and take a five-for, it makes for an awkward situation,” he added. “I reckon there's
too much cotton wool with all the preparation they do going into Tests.”
