Petition filed in Lahore High Court against Pakistani cricketers involved in spot-fixing
A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court against four Pakistani cricketers who have been involved in alleged spot-fixing in England during the Lord’s test match in London. The petition filed by Advocate Ishtiaq Ahmed demands that strong action should be taken against these cricketers who might be involved in the scandal under the preview of Article 6 of the Constitution of Pakistan.
Pakistani cricketers Mohammad Amir, Mohammad Asif, Salman Butt, and Kamran Akmal have all been under the scanner for all the wrong reasons.
Advocate Ishtiaq Ahmed is the one who has filed this petition which contains the names of those players who have earned so much shame for the country and the nation. The petition states that these players ruined Pakistan’s name by indulging in such heinous activities. However, the petition is not only focusing on the players for this entire fiasco. Chairman, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 Cricket Board Ijaz Butt has also been included in the petition, demanding his removal from office along with an investigation against the influential king of PCB.
Advocate http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ishtiaq-c64579 Ahmed suggested that this was a heinous crime which could not be ignored that easily. According to sources, the petition stated that a few Pakistanis not only sold their own soul, but the soul of the entire nation as well. Furthermore, it is believed that the petition states that this case should be dealt accordingly under the purview of Article 6 of the Constitution of Pakistan which deals with cases of treason.
He also gave a suggestion to the court that PCB should take strict actions against all these players involved in spot-fixing if proven guilty. The PCB should impose a life time ban on all the players who have taken part in this and all their monetary and physical possessions should be confiscated. Ishtiaq Ahmad further suggested that strict action should be taken against such players as it will serve as a great example for others, especially upcoming youngsters who idealise these cricketers.
He demanded that all players involved in the crime should be arrested as soon as they reach the country. The advocate also suggested to the Lahore High Court that the PCB Chairman should also be involved in the investigation. Mr. Ahmad opined that PCB Chairman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ijaz-Butt-c64128 should be removed as soon as possible as he has done nothing good in his tenure of almost 2 years. The lawyer opined that Ijaz Butt was the worst PCB Chairman till date as a plethora of controversies erupted during his tenure.
