Petition to get the question system fixed?

Question

Arn't you guys tired of the stupid questions that we all know have no rights to be in the hockey section end up in the hockey section. I know I am. Star this question if you would like to tell Yahoo to fix the system that makes questions go where. When this question is resolved I will send this to Yahoo to see if they can fix it.

Question: Will there ever be another Gretzky or Lemieux

Eventually, there has to be.  I'm sure that in the '60's and '70's the question was "Would there be another Howe or Richard?"

Well I can  say that there is another Gretzky but he is playing High School Football

ok i will be serious maybe not the Gretzky that scored 92 goals in a season but the type of player that will consistantly be a Superstar on the team yea deffinatly I think some teams already have them their names are Alex Ovechkin and Crosby/Malkin

Great idea Petza, but as a user for just over two years I have to warn you that it will take a lot of persistance to even get them to acknowledge your idea.

And brace yourself for remarks such as "We are working to improve this site" or "Thank you for your idea, we will consider it" or anything that is basically passing the buck.

I show up in the Suggestion Board about every three weeks or so and scare everyone with a new idea. You'd be surprised to see how many people have the same concerns as you and how little it is acknowledged.

What's that? Oh it's just the neighbors dog barking in agreement. You know - an animal that is less intelligent than a human but still smarter than any Yahoo employee that I've encountered since Aril 2006.

HOCKEY ANSWER: Yes, there will be, as soon as me and that Wickenheiser chick meet up in a country motel on some dark, dark night.

When you send this to yahoo, make sure you suggest to make it so that the person asking the question has to manually click the box that the question should go in, instead of already having a box checked. That's where the problem lies.

To answer your question first: I'm sure we will eventually have another superstar of their quality. I mean, they had to come from somewhere.

As far as fixing the system - Good Luck w/ that! I feel your pain, but sometimes mistakes are made.

Also, to paraphrase an old saying: there is an idiot born every minute!

Definitely.  Yahoo should stop dead horse questions and repeats.  Those users can just look up the question rather than ask it, considering it's been asked so many times before, but of course we all know they don't.

What I fear will end up happening is hockey get changed to "ice hockey" and I HATE it when people call hockey "ice hockey"

What SHOULD happen is:

- keep the hockey section for normal hockey (duh, that is the kind played on ice)

- create a field hockey section

- create another section for other forms of hockey (floor, table, video, bubble)

Of course there will be a player to break Gretzky's records.  All records fall eventually.  Unless people try to run faster to break the 100 meter record.  At some point, the record has to stand.

As far as stupid questions go, I have the ability to scroll past them when I don't feel like getting sarcastic (not very often, does happen, really). But it would make the section look more lintelligent. Having said that, it is the off season. Hang in there, it'll get better again.

There will be another Gretzky eventually. The Leafs are taking all the necessary steps to draft him as we speak.

Petza. Maybe they can add an extra step that asks these people "Are you sure you want this in the ____________ Category?" That would help a lot right there. Not always but maybe some of the time

Hockey question. Gretzky/Lemieux will be a battle of the ages. Now and forever. . Ovie / Crosby will be a match on the under card

It's not just the stupid questions!! It's also the stupid people as well we need to stop here (but legally).

In addition to getting the question system fixed, let's see if we can get the site to require others to pass an I.Q. test before taking part in Y/A.

1. You have to be knowledgeable to begin with.

2. Only those with a good I.Q  are the ones that will learn anyway.

I actually like it.I get to rip people more when they do.Perhaps thats why I get thumbs down in some of my answers then some.LMAO..I'd rather answer them then "What does Habs mean?" or "Who's better Ovie or Crosby?" over and over again.

Brent was good and Jocelyn wasn't bad but both can be topped I'm sure.

It's not Yahoo's fault. They're program is quite good at guessing the category, but if it's not right you have a list of other top guesses that you can pick from, and you can go and browse for the correct categories if It's not right.

Yahoo is designed well. the Idiots using it... Let's just say you need to file a bug report to God.

Yeah, there will be another. You could even argue that Crosby is better. He's putting up similar numbers as they did in similar eras. Tavares is another good bet to be nearly that good, if not quite that good. Gretzky's numbers were a product of his time. While there may never be another player with near his vision, there very well could be somebody that approaches or exceeds his production, adapted for inflation so to speak.
