my niece was interviewed for immigrant a month ago IR2 category but until now no response from us embassy she aged out can child status protection act apply to her priority date was dec.20,2004 her birthday is dec.20 1994 after interview she was told to wait for visa

by dec. 20, 2008, she's only 14 yo and still a child. her status is not affected.

one-month wait is not long but it's OK to follow-up also.

After the interview the embassy sends a door-to-door packet directly to the individual.  That packet will include the passport with the visa within it and another sealed package containing some paperwork.  She can take out the passport but DO NOT open the inner sealed package of papers.  We only waited about 2 weeks.  If its one month already maybe someone can call to check on it.
