Chelsea goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petr-Cech-c29837 has admitted that the Andre Villas-Boas' men are down and out of the Premier League title race.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 international has given up on the title race, admitting that the two Manchester Clubs are far too ahead for the lead to be trimmed.
“We don't even have to mention the word 'title' because the Manchester clubs will not drop many points - that's the reality,” the 29-year-old admitted to his official website.
“I still think it is realistic to target the third sport, though. For that we will need to succeed in Sunday's tough match [at home to United].”
Chelsea dropped more points on Wednesday against Swansea, a result that all but ended their title hopes. However, Chelsea were even lucky in the draw as Neil Taylor turned in a Jose Bosingwa cross into his own net after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786
attacker, had given the home side a deserved lead.
And Cech admitted to being outperformed.
“In the first half, we were not playing well at all but after the break it was completely different,” he observed.
“We put Swansea under pressure, did not allow them to pass the ball at ease. However, once again we were unable to give the final pass into their box.
“Even with 10 men we were pushing ourselves forward and the effort was rewarded with an equaliser in stoppage time.
“Bosingwa's shot was deflected by a Swansea player, so in the end we must take the point.
“Naturally, we wanted to win but nobody has it easy playing at Swansea. They have lost just one home match this season.”
With http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 suspended for the upcoming crunch tie against Manchester United, Boas' men are considered underdogs at their own turf. The former Champions would need to perform much better in comparison with this outing if they are to overcome the
defending champions.
