http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petr-Cech-c29837 has revealed that while the Blues were underdogs going into the UEFA Champions League final against Bayern Munich, they had a decent chance to win.
The Blues face the Bundesliga giants in the European competition on Saturday and even though they are not favourites to win, the team have a joint belief that they can emerge victorious at the Allianz Arena. Cech confirmed that he was hoping for a Chelsea
win against Bayern Munich.
The London side have had to defeat the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 on the 19th
of May.
According to Cech, the German side had more of a chance to emerge victors from the clash, especially since they had the fixture taking place at their stadium. The Blues stopper believed the home advantage could make all the difference for the two teams.
Cech said in an interview:
“It's a final and you would think that the chances are 50-50, but to play at your own stadium and have your own dressing room is a huge advantage”
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 goalkeeper revealed that while both sides were under pressure for the final, Munich had more at stake which is why they would be under more pressure. He urged his side to use that as their advantage come match day and work towards winning
the UEFA Champions League.
He continued:
“The final is about how the two teams cope with the pressure. They are the favourites as they play at home but the pressure is bigger on them than it is on us.
That might be to our advantage, it might be a disadvantage. We will have to wait and see how the match goes.
Either way, we will try to make their role as favourites as unpleasant as possible. Certainly we are not going there just on a trip. We want to win."
Cech admitted his side were desperate to win the title, having previously gotten close to winning it in 2008.
