Petra Martic of Croatia crushed Taipei Kai Chen Chang 6-4, 6-4 on Monday to make it to the second round of 2011 WANLIMA Guangzhou International Women’s open here in Guangzhou, China.
Martic is having a decent time on the Women’s Tennis Association tour. Following her consistent performances, she has also improved her ranking to world number 55. The 20-year-old looked extremely confident in her opening round
match as she required only 1 hour and 23 minutes dispatching her opponent.
Chang had her chances in the match but her inability to handle the pressure let her down as she leaked points at crucial moments of the match. Despite breaking the serve twice and holding on to most of her service games, she was
outplayed in the finer details of the game. The Taipei tennis pro will be hoping to make a strong come back on her next WTA appearance.

The second set also followed a pretty similar pattern as both players put in a lot effort to get the upper hand. Playing with confidence, Martic broke the serve twice to earn an impassable 5-2 lead. Although she was broken back
once, she managed to close out the match in straight sets.
