Petri Pasanen to leave Werder Bremen on a free transfer after rejecting new deal- Bundesliga news
Werder Bremen defender Petri Pasanen has refused to sign a new deal to stay with the club and will be joining Austrian club FC Red Bull Salzburg on a free transfer. The player, whose contract had ended this summer, was offered
a new deal but he rejected it to move to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Austria-c2844 before the start of the next season.
The Finland international had the opportunity to play in the Bundesliga for another season but opted for a new challenge in the Austrian League with runners-up side Salzburg. The player had differences with the Board and it was
revealed in March that Die Werderaner would not be extending his stay. But a change of decision lately could not convince the defender to stay.
Werder Bremen General Manager Klaus Allofs admitted that talks between the club and the player have taken place and the situation of a new deal was also discussed but an agreement was not reached in the end and the player is set
to leave. He added that the defender needs a new challenge in his career and wants to play regular first team football.
“We have had a serious conversation with Petri Pasanen. We discussed his whole situation. It was a good and direct talk. In the end he decided to turn to a new challenge. He is leaving our club,” the GM was quoted as saying.

next few days to sign the player with only some amount of paper work remaining.

Petri Pasanen spent seven years at Werder Bremen and made 144 appearances in the League, scoring three goals in the process. The player also has 65 international caps to his name but is yet to find the net for his country.
