Petrified to drive by myself.. tips PLEASE?

Ok, so im 18 years old and im petrified to drive by myself. I start a job 2morrow and i have to drive their obviously by myself and im petrified to do it. How can i get over this fear??? Ive only driven by myself once and i thought i was gonna die lol. But i really need tips. Thanks!

Practice builds confidence.

Yes, you can die in an auto accident, so it is no laughing matter.  So, drive safely and pay attention!

(actually, passengers can distract you, making you less safe than driving alone.  Also keep the radio and your cell phone off, and do not eat/drink in the car, to avoid more distractions.  Try to only adjust settings in the car when you are safely at a stop.)

id say that you should like drive short distances so you get used to driving alone, but since you start tomorrow, id  say just take road where there wont be as many people driving so you can drive slower to get used to it and not hold up traffic and you could also leave early pr when there will less people heading to work.  

the first time i drove alone i was kinda scared, but since then ive driven alone more and now it doesnt bug me

The best way I learned to drive by myself was out of necessity.  I moved and started a new job that was right off the interstate and that was the only way to get there.  I learned quickly and now I love going on long drives, even when I'm stuck behind a semi. You will do fine because you have to.... just turn on a song you really like and enjoy it, but be careful too!!  Good luck
