  1. ermmm just from memory...

basically you cant put normal petrol into the engine of the strimmer it wont run and will ruin it

you need two stroke oil .. which you can by

you then mix than with petrool

100ml of two stroke and then 900 of petrol i believe? bt dont take my word for it... find out.. but dont put pure petrol in...

if u dont no how to get it started or nething

then bascially on the strimmer will be a small bobble... which you can push..

before you start the engine and already have put ur petrol in... push this aroudn ten times, it pushes the petrol into the engine to help it get started quicker.. also on the side will be a small switch which can go up n down pres it down or up either one.... and thats called the choke... then pull the chord and the engine shud start running then put the choke ( the lil thing you pushed up or down) back to the middle of its original position and it shud start up

    :)

NEXT TIME LOOK AFTER THE MANUAL!!!

  2. Krazy, any place that sells these strimmers will only be too willing to give you the info that you need, call them or go and talk to them, if you put the wrong mix in, obviously it won't start. You will have the information before you get all these answers in.

  3. I'd check the manufacurers website, and/or the shp you bought it from

however at a rough guess I'd expect a modern ywo stroke to be 1:100 (one part oil to 100 parts petrol)

  4. I recomend you use 25:1(25 parts petrol to 1 part 2 stroke oil) to start - i am a fitter.  if you have any problems with starting or running adjust your mix accordingly.

Blue smoke means excessive oil, non starter is usually excessive oil,

Be careful though as too much oil is better to start with - too little and your engine may seize after a working period.

Once you get engine running allow to warm up to working temperature, 4 mins or so. then rev up and check exhaust colour for more accurate gauge.  All machines vary so a visit on the net to the company who made it will tell you quickly.

  5. my lawnflight strimmer is 1part oil to 25 parts petrol
