Petty Larceny????

I'm 15. Charged with Petty Larceny in Virginia. Please, no lectures about ethics and right, and wrong. I know what I did was wrong. Just please tell me what type of punishment I will recieve if this is my first offense.

  1. It's gonna depend on the laws of Virginia, the judge, the lawyers.

    If you have a hard a$$ judge that wants to make this an example for you, you could get maximum sentence, whatever it is in Virginia for Petty Larceny.

    I assume you have a lawyer?  You can ask them what the penalty is and the min./max. possible sentence.

    But since this is your first time, you're remorseful, you may get off with probation, fine, & community service, and maybe even have your record expunged after 1 year.  Depends.

    Hope you really did learn your lesson.  If there's a next time, it will be much worse.  

    Whatever they give you, just do it and do it right and all will be okay.

You will most likely get community service which means that you will be given an amount of time that you will have to perform volunteer services at the place of your choice.  It is very important that you follow those orders if you don't complete it it becomes a more serious matter.  I know you won't do it again.

  3. Slap on the wrist. Please, don't be so f-ing paranoid. If you're going to be a good crook, you got to be more confident.
