I don't think you can compare Petty Sr. and Earnhardt Sr. to anyone.  They had their own talent that would still be hard to beat.  I don't think Junior is trying to be like his dad.  He will earn things in his own right.  And Junior on a decline?  He's doing better now then he has in a long time.  Geez.

Jr. is on a decline. I don't know if he will be quite as bad as Kyle Petty in 10 years, but you have to realize almost all of his wins are on restrictor plate tracks. He will probably become something like Kyle Petty over time.

Edit: I meant that compared to his Busch career and the first 2 or 3 years in Cup, it seems like he's been declining. And Kyle Petty showed a lot of promise in the early 90s and now has faded completely out of the picture. I just think Jr. started the same way, and could be heading that way, only time will tell.

NASCAR wannabes?? OK, first off, no driver is a wanna be. They all have talent, and I respect all of them. Petty, should just hang it up, but I like that he is still trying. Jr will win, (even if it is just all the non-points races) Oh well, he still averages one of the best finishers of the season so far. I know he hasn't won in 73 races, and it could be another 73 before he does because Toyota's are on it and all over it. I could care less.I am a Jr fan and I am a die hard NASCAR fan. So if you are a fan, (not a wannabe) then grow up, show some respect, and act like it. Stop trolling around here and acting like a 3rd grader.

JR is not on a decline, if anything he is back on the incline that he fell down a few years ago. Moving to HMS is the best thing he could have done, and i believe getting rid of Eury Jr. could be the next best thing! Jr. is on his way to a championship, may not be this year but soon to come! Dont ever put him down!

Umm are you even paying attention this season, Dale Jr is a contender for the cup, Kyle Petty's never finished higher than 5th in points since 1979. Oh yeah, 8 wins since 1979, vs 17 since 2000. Just give it up. The bestanswer, 7 of Jr's wins have been at Talladega(5) and Daytona(2) that leaves 10 at other tracks, Oh yeah he's got more wins at Richmond(3), and as many wins at Phoenix(2) than at Daytona. The other wins Dover, Bristol, Texas,Atlanta, and Chicagoland. So what you said doesn't add up.

if you are trying to compare dale jr and kyle petty at this time thats ridiculous because kyle is on the brink of retirement and dale jr is no where near that theres a good 15 year (at least) difference in their ages

now if Adam was here (RIP Adam we miss you) it would make sense

Dale Jr is having a good year wether you think so or not. His move to HMS was the best move He's been in the top 10 all year and he's 3rd in points So quit putting him down and get a life.

Okay if Dale Jr is on a decline being third in th points....Geez I do not know where you are coming from, Kyle Petty would probably give both nuts for that..Don't get me wrong...Kyle Petty is great for Nascar and the Victory Junction Gang, its to bad he will never reach Sr or Jr in stats....Oh yes by  the way Dale Jr is only 33 y/o Kyle is how old.......Get out of your dream world, Dale Sr and King Richard yeah, but as we all know kids don't always have the same success..But Dale Jr and Kyle Petty are making their OWN stats....NO COMPARISON needed... a Chase comparison thats just not even fair....way way way to many differences...Kyle keep up the great work with the Victory Junction Gang, and look forward to your greatness in the Booth someday on TV, and keep up Kyles Korner on Nascar.com you'll keep me in stitches with laughter, Dale Jr keep up the stats on the track..
