Petya Nedelcheva tames Stefani Stoeva to win Women’s Singles crown at Bulgarian International 2012
Bulgaria’s talented player Petya Nedelcheva showed up a remarkable performance and won the Women’s Singles crown after defeating her un-seeded compatriot Stefani Stoeva in the final contest of Babolat Bulgarian International 2012 at Sofia, Bulgaria, on Sunday,
October 7.
The lofty Nedelcheva, who was seeded at number one in Women’s Singles main draw of the competition, was just uncontrollable for her opponent as she did not face any problem in ending up the title match in dominating and remarkable fashion.
Nedelcheva showed her hard-to-learn skills on court and made her rival work hard for every single point by executing powerful shots in the right areas.
The top seeded Nedelcheva easily overpowered Stefani in straight sets with a comfortable margin by spending just 34 minutes on court.
On the other hand, the lower ranked Stefani tried her best to stretch her giant killing run in the event but she failed to cope up with the speed and aggression of her higher ranked challenger and lost the match without creating a strong impact on her home
fans.
In the first set, Nedelcheva was everywhere in the court as she did not face any problem in taking an early gap and maintained her upper hand over her team-mate.
Stefani, in the meanwhile, tried to put up good show but failed to stop her rival from setting up a huge lead until the one-minute break.
In the concluding part, Nedelcheva continued directing things in the right direction without letting her challenger to show strong resistance and took the first set with a killing 21-9 score on the board.
In the second game, Stefani also showed her brilliance on court as she played attacking and controlled badminton this time and remained ahead at 11-8 until the break.
However, she failed to maintain the pace of rallies in the concluding half as her rival started to gear up the pace of rallies.
Nedelcheva took over the control from her rival in the ending points and won the second game with a 21-18 score on the board.
The in-form Nedelcheva remained successful in winning the final battle in straight games with a convincing margin of 21-9 and 21-18.
