i have bought a peugeot 306 Y Reg 1.8 16 valve car and wanna no if anyone has had any trouble with this same exact model, has anyone ever had any problems with their 306 on a Y Reg 1.8 16v car? its a GLX specification i have

  1. Pug 306's are notoriously good. At the time of release in 1994 they were one of the best on the market then after the 1998 facelift model, they did little to the driving dynamics as they were still good even after 4 years.

    Check for badly resprayed accident damage and as with all cars check for potential rust issues under the arches and sills. Noisy or smoky diesels probably have very high mileages, oil and coolant leaks which could lead to bigger problems, can be a bit noisy when cold, defective accelerator linkage gives jerky throttle response. Check for a smooth gearbox, too as costly to repair. Minor electrical problems, especially electric window lifts and faulty switches. Check for unevenly worn front tyres which could be tracking or worse; Suspension problems.

    One of the biggest problems that cost £500 is a leaking heater matrix which involves removing the whole dashboard!

    Apart from these the car is great and this only probably affects 3% of all 306's. Good luck.
