Peyton Manning retirement a subject of discussion following sensational tweet by actor Rob Lowe–NFL

A possibility of retirement of Indianapolis Colts’ quarterback (QB), Peyton Manning, has become a subject of discussions out of the blue following a tweet by the actor, Rob Lowe, a couple of days ago.
Lowe in his tweets apparently joked that “my people” told about the retirement of Manning, who did not play for his team in the entire 2011 National Football League (NFL) regular season due to his neck injury, later in the day.
The tweets made the headlines soon after coming into the limelight without any word from either the player or team’s management in confirmation or denial of the sensational speculation.
Manning’s father is the only person who reportedly have denied the rumour saying he should have been aware of any such decision from his son as to weighing his retirement from the game.
"Archie Manning laughed when he heard @RobLowe said Peyton will retire, 'Noooo...he ain't retiring. I think he would've told me.' #NFL32," according to a tweet of the ESPN analyst, Chris Mortensen.
Reports have further pointed out at the apparent silence of Colts spokesman, Avis Roper and the player’s agent, Tom Condon, on the issue.
The actor is a friend of Indianapolis Colts’ owner, Jim Irsay, and presents an NBC show ‘Parks and Recreation’.
Despite that the there is no confirmation or rejection of the tweets of the actor, his posting has caused a stir in the league’s circles including players.
Peyton Manning sat out the entire past regular season while recovering from a neck surgery that he had in September of 2011. It is still not confirmed if he will come back next year to play football another season.
Jim Irsay has earlier refuted the suggestions that the player could consider joining another team if he returns to play the game again. He said if Manning returns to play football another season it will be with them.
The owner had also hinted at options such as looking to replace the QB with a new draft pick in similar fashion Peyton Manning had replaced their former QB, Jim Harbaugh, as a new draft pick, about 13 years ago.
Their prospective replacement this time could be the top draft prize, the Stanford College’s QB, Andrew Luck, who is going pro from next season. The team management is yet to confirm if they will draft the rookie into their side.
All this could only be possible after April of this year, as according to some reports, Manning’s contractual terms restrict the team to avail the option of letting the player go free agent at this point of time.
It will also be after the payment of $28 million in bonus to him by March 8 this year. It is yet confirm if the Colts will pay the amount or seek to going into negotiations and possibly extension in the deadline.
