Pfaff 2029 sewing machine.

Question

Bought a new 2029 pfaff from ebay. Misread the directions and tried sewing while set a 220 volts instead of 120. Switched to 120 and machine runs fine except that it does not sound right. Makes a crackling type of sound that will go away when I change to a different needle position. Also, the machine makes a whining sound when sewing. Never had a pfaff, so I'm not sure if this is normal. Otherwise the stitches are beautiful.
