Pfaff 7570 software

I have a Pfaff 7570 & PE design software that I purchased from a friend several years ago. I have been using the software with a PC containing Windows 98. The computer is slowly dying, but whenever I try to use another (laptop with Windows XP, windows 2000), I can not get it to communicate with my machine. Do you have any suggestions?Thanks,Edwina Ulmer
