Pfaff Hobby 1142 Reverse stitch lever twisted...

Question

Hi, the reverse stitch lever on my Pfaff Hobby 1142 looks twisted and won't reverse stitch - been to 1 repair shop who actually told me it was MADE that way (turned toward the sewing operator) to make it easier to use - BUT his sample stitch cloth showed NO reverse stitches because it doesn't work!

Can I open the machine somehow to get to this and see if it simply got "unhooked" or whatever from the reverse thing?
