Hello, I am looking at colleges and have been doing research. I am looking to get a Ph.D. in Zoology. I am interested in animal behavior and conservation. I think I have narrowed it down to my top two choices, but if you have a different recommendation, I would appreciate that as well. So, should I go to Michigan State University or Miami University - Oxford? Thank you.

  1. you said you were interested in animal behavior. You can get a Ph.D in Animal Behavior at UC Davis.

    http://biosci2.ucdavis.edu/ggc/anb/progr...

The four specialties are: (1) behavior and conservation of wild animals,

  2. oxford is really good

cambridge shgould be better if you have the grades

  3. If you are interested in the field, go to a university or museum library and start reading the literature in ethology and conservation. When you find an article of interest, see which university the author is affiliated with. That will give you a short-list. If one is of particular interest to you, write to the author and ask for advice. You might also pick up a reprint of the article that way. If you get no response, scratch the name off your list. If you get a more detailed one than you expected, move that name to the top of your list. Once you get to the graduate level, it is more a question of who you will be working with than where.
