Pham Cao Cuong tames Niyazov Artur in Men’s Singles showdown – Sudirman Cup 2013
Vietnam’s emerging player, Pham Cao Cuong, played wonderful badminton and overpowered Kazakhstan’s Niyazov Artur in Men’s Singles showdown at Sudirman Cup 2013 on Sunday, May 19, in Malaysia.
Lofty Pham Cao, who has been working hard in training sessions for the last couple of years to learn advanced skills, played with confidence and remained successful in winning this contest in 30 minutes.
Pham Cao worked hard in the starting points but he soon took over the control by playing positive badminton. He did not lose his focus and ultimately grabbed a comprehensive win by finishing up the match in straight
sets with a comfortable score of 21-16 and 21-13.
Artur, on the contrary, failed to show his potential, as he could not match the pace of his in-form rival. He could not control his shots and eventually crashed out without proving his worth.
In the opening points of first game, both men showed aggression in their approach and they played with the same speed that kept them close on the board. The tempo of the rallies was very fast in the opening set
and it was Pham Cao who started to control the affairs of the game.
Pham Cao controlled the pace of his shots and manipulated all loopholes of his challenger. He did not miss any chance of earning points and managed to set up a reasonable difference on score board until the one-minute
break.
He remained comfortable in the arena comfortably after the mid-game interval and carried on his winning impetus. Pham Cao continued executing powerful strokes on targeted areas and took the opening game with
a comfortable total of 21-16.
Things were not much different in the second set of this entertaining fight, as Pham Cao played in the similar dominating fashion. He was impressively fast on court and he did not face any problem in building
a staggering difference until the one-minute break.
Artur could not show resistance in the second game of this match as his challenger Pham Cao played aggressive badminton and secured the game with a sound 21-13 margin on the board.
