  1. Depends on program and your background.  A non-clinical program where you have met all the background requirements can be done in 4 years.  Clinical psychology programs are longer because of more higher requirements and take about six years.

  2. Well what country are you in?

I'm in Australia, here it takes 3 years, but you have to have completed a year of honours at the end of your undergrad course or have a research masters before you can apply.

    So that's 3 years undergrad + 1 year honours + 3 years phD.

Some universities, however, say that 3 years isn't quite long enough to do research and write up your thesis, so if you are producing good work, they will allow you to do research for the first complete 3 years, then the university itself will pay you for the first six months into the fourth year while you write up your thesis.

  3. A Ph.D in psychology usually takes approximately 4-5 years to complete. Depending upon whether you're going into clinical psychology or research, you may also have to complete requirements to become licensed by the state that you're in, which could take longer (depending on the program.) Ph.D. programs are usually extremely difficult to get into; I've heard people saying that the low rate of admission is like trying to get into medical school.
