Phebes Wish in form for the Coors Light Handicap
Nine three-year-old runners have registered for the Class 5 Coors Light Handicap over five furlongs on Wednesday, 8th August at Newcastle. A few three-year-old runners have been up to business by getting placed in the races that they recently
took part in while some are still looking out for chances to credit achievements against their names.
The three-year-old bay gelding, Phebes Wish, has kept the performance level consistent to a certain level after slipping into the new season. Through the three outings, the first two culminated into wins while the third attempt deprived him of the seasonal
hat-trick.
Diamond Green’s bay gelding won the seasonal debut on 12th April, 2012 in the Ladbrokes Bet On Your Mobile Handicap at Wolverhampton over six furlongs. The John C. McConnell trained escaped defeat by a narrow neck’s margin and set Trending as
the runner-up. Coming at terms with the third position was, Art Dzeko.
He shared the first victory of his career with jockey, James Sullivan.
The next stop for the Derek Kierans owned was in the iRadio iWake Up Apprentice Handicap on 4th May, 2012 at Dundalk over five furlongs. He took off by chasing the leaders and with 2 ½ furlongs down, he ranked seventh in the field of fourteen.
The three-year-old progressed to the second position with two furlongs out. The decisive stages of the race had Phebes Wish winning by the margin of 1 ¾ lengths.
Judies Child settled as the runner-up while the third position was filled in by, Model Behaviour.
The race that was supposed to entitle the three-year-old out of, Kathoe, to a hat-trick turned into a gloomy second position.
Phebes Wish qualified as the runner-up in the Fast Shipping Ireland Handicap on 6th July, 2012 at Bellewstown over five furlongs. The race was won by, Faleena, while ending third down the line was, Nini Ok.
The C. M. Farrell bred has not raced at Newcastle before. The 4 to 1 entry will be paired up with jockey, James Sullivan, and the duo has drawn the second gate to race from. The Irish bay gelding will need to look out for the 11 to 4 shot, Wild Sauce.
