Manchester United recently went on to complete the signing of Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 Under – 21 star was being pursued by a number of clubs, but ended up picking United as his ultimate destination.
It is now being revealed that the defender was told that he would get plenty of opportunities to play in United’s first team, which is why he chose to make the move of Old Trafford over any other place.
Jones has now gone on to admit that life with United is like a dream come true, but he is relishing the opportunity to go all out for the team and prove to the world just what he is capable of. Jones also stated that he was currently training harder than
he ever has, in order to be able to compete for a starting role in the team.
The defender also mention that United’s policy was now to hand out starting role’s at the club, based on merit and he who performs best, will be given the nod over the rest.
Jones when talking about his training and his upcoming opportunities at the club is quoted to have said: "I'm training and playing with top-class players day in and day out"
"I know there's competition for places. It's up for grabs in every position and it's only healthy for the squad.
"I've got to keep training hard, working my way up. Eventually, I'll get my chance and I'll take it."
The player then went on to admit that the realization of him playing for one of the biggest teams in the world, has only just started to sink in. The player is currently on a pre-season tour with the team, but seems to be happier then he has ever been.
Jones then went on to state: "It's just sunk in"
"It took a while to sink in but I'm delighted to be here. It's a massive club, the best club in the world possibly and I'm just happy to be here.
"The lads are quality. I'm just about settling in now and enjoying it. I think the lads have been brilliant and have made me feel very welcome so I feel really settled."
Jones is a highly versatile player and can play as a centre half, a full back and even a holding midfielder if required.
