Phil Jones still in shock over move to Manchester United but vows to improve
Manchester United signed Blackburn defender and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Phil-Jones-c29903 earlier in the summers. The defender is reported to have signed for the Red Devils for a fee worth around sixteen million pounds.
Despite almost every footballing expert being in shock over the Red Devils pursuing the youngster, it seems like Jones himself is the one who has suffered the biggest shock of all.
Jones still can’t believe his luck and is still trying to process the fact that he is now a member of the United squad. However, he feels life for him just couldn’t get any better, as he is looking to make the most of it.
Jones, when talking to the media about his move to United is quoted to have said:"It has all happened so quickly"
The teenager then went on to admit that he didn’t expect such a radical change to occur when he was at such a tender age, but he just can’t help but feel delighted with what has happened.
"I am 19 and I did not expect so much to occur at such an early stage of my career.”
"I am just riding the rollercoaster at the minute and enjoying everything.”
Despite him still being a teenager, it seems like he has big plans for his future. Jones has gone on to admit that he wishes to fight for a spot in the team’s starting eleven and in order to do so, he is willing to fight day in and day out. He also admitted
that despite playing every week at Blackburn, it might be a little harder to do so at United.
"I did play every week at Blackburn and want to do the same at United," he said.
"But I am a realistic person and I know that is not going to happen with the quality of player we have here.”
He ended by hopefully claiming that his performances were the only thing that would help ensure him a starting eleven spot and in order to do so, he would go all out.
"As I improve and show good performances in training, hopefully I will get an opportunity and will take it."
Jones, over the last season went on to prove that despite being a teenager, he could still mix it up with the more experienced players at the club. He has the ability to break into the United first team and according to most experts, he might just be able
to give some of the senior defenders a run for their money this coming season.
