The defender has admitted that he is more than open to playing in the upcoming Euro 2012 or in the Olympics, just as long as he gets to play for the country.
The defender is quoted to have said: “There are two massive competitions coming up at the end of the season, hopefully I can be part of one of them."
Jones then went on to admit that he was a little surprised with the way he had fit in the team, since he wasn’t sure how long it would take him to start playing for the Red Devils.
He then went on to add: "If anyone had told me at the start of the season I would have made 40 appearances for Manchester United I would have snapped their hands off. It is incredible," Jones enthused.”
"I didn't expect it this season but it all started off really well. Perhaps I picked up a few injuries at the wrong time because at the back end of the season I couldn't really get my match fitness back.”
"But now I feel good, fit and fresh and hopefully I can finish the season strongly."
He then ended by stating: "You always raise the question to yourself. Am I good enough to be here?”
Jones has gone on to be one of the most impressive youngsters on display this season. His performances are more than likely to have caught the eyes of Roy Hodgson, who is more than likely to think about putting Jones in the squad as a backup for the upcoming
Euro.
