Phil Mickelson eager to buy San Diego Padres, Lefty means business!
Phil Mickelson is back in business. This time, it is not concerning golf, it is baseball.
The golf Hall of Famer is set to buy his hometown Major League Baseball team, San Diego Padres. Mickelson has fallen in love with his hometown team and by the looks of it, he will do whatever it takes to get his hands on the team’s ownership.
“It's something I've loved since I was a kid, I've been talking to them about being involved with them, having an opportunity to invest in the team and being part of the ownership group, I think it's a very good investment opportunity. More than that, it's
opportunity to be involved in the community in San Diego,” said Mickelson about his venture.
Mickelson has been ruling the world of golf for the past decade. His craft has given him respect and fame in the best form possible.
Lefty, as he is known among golfers, turned professional in 1992. After turning professional there has been no stopping to this man’s dominance at the game of golf.
His left-handed awing, his charisma, his command and his orthodox style of play, name it and he will have it.
He has 48 professional victories to his name and continues giving golf fans magic all over the world. His impressive record holds 40 PGA Tour wins, 7 European Tour wins and one Challenge Tour win.
He has also won two major championships with his precision play, The PGA Championship and the Masters Tournament (3-time winner).
Mickelson has won the prestigious Haskins Award for three consecutive years (1990, 1991 and 1992).
In November 2011, Lefty was nominated in the World Golf Hall of Fame for his devotion to the game of golf and in 2012, he received the honour of becoming a World Golf Hall of Famer.
He stands tall among the best athletes San Diego has ever produced. His contribution in golf is undoubtedly magnificent. With his eyes on San Diego’s Major League Baseball team, he is choosing an investment worth the effort.
His moves on the course have been brilliant, yet, his presence off the field is as impactful as on the field. Mickelson is not only a great golfer, but an eminent businessman as well.
