Phil Taylor, the most dangerous man in the World of darts, the UK Open awaits a legend!
The UK Open has begun and has already given numerous surprises in the early rounds.
Ted Hankey faced sadness as he was shown the exit door by the crafty Mervyn King. Even King could not believe how easy it was to defeat the 2-time BDO World Champion.
“I was expecting a harder task than I was presented with because I know how good Ted is,” said King after the win.
It was indeed very surprising to see the two rivals of the past settling the scores in a very disappointing manner, as the level of competition was indeed very weak.
“We go back a long way and he’s very hard to beat. But maybe, after playing the first two matches, he ran out of steam a little bit,” said King, concluding Hankey’s poor performance.
The headlines are filled with other names, yet one name is still screaming glory without publicity and that name is Phil “The Power” Taylor.
The 15-time World Champion and the recent McCoy’s Premier League winner is keeping it cool and enjoying his time outside the world of darts for now.
It is still a mystery who he will face in his first UK Open match. Yet, whoever it may be, “The Power” will over power the opponent for sure.
After the McCoy’s Premier League, Taylor faced numerous issues regarding his health. Firstly, his age is becoming a problem for the legend, secondly, his back problem.
Taylor has been seeing his physician recently, concerning his back-ache that was obvious in his final match against Simon Whitlock. Although he won the League, yet, it left him tired and exhausted.
The break he had in between the Premier League and the UK Open was something he desperately needed. He has been extremely excited about his ‘Team Taylor’ initiative and has been focusing on promoting new talent.
The UK Open will mark another tournament in Taylor’s legendary career as a darts magician.
Phil “The Power” Taylor has now reached a level where his playing or not playing does not matter, as he is already the best darts player to have ever lived.
