Phil Taylor redefines the best of darts at the Premier League of Darts
Since the beginning of the Premier League, experts have been stating various names as their favourites.
However, one name that trumps all is Phil Taylor. With the event underway, ‘The Power’ of darts has been able to establish a new record in the history of darts.
His game is not just about winning today, it is about setting new benchmarks in darts.
Among many others, his latest record has been in the form of the highest average that he has scored in his game against Simon Whitlock.
The darts player, from Wychwood Park near Crewe, was able to record the highest average of 118.66 in his encounter against Kevin painter at the UK Open back in 2010.
This time, he has been able to make another record of clinching the highest ever average in the history of the competition with an average of 117.35.
It is also important to mention here that this is not the first time that Taylor has been able to set such a record.
Back in 2009, he was able to average 116.01 in his match against John Part. The score comprised maximum 180’s and other 14-darter shots, averaging over 140.
In his match against the Aussie ace, he was very conveniently able to shatter the dreams of his opponent with the help of the tremendous doubles that he shot with utmost ease.
"I'm over the moon," said the 15-time world champion. "Simon pushed me and that's why the averages were so good".
"I lost in the world championships and that was it. There's been no more messing about. I'm doing everything right now. I'm working my socks off and eating healthily," he added.
It was earlier reported that Taylor had started to regularly visit the gym to keep himself healthy and fit.
At 51 years of age, he is definitely looking for a breakthrough and only a proper lifestyle, accompanied with a good diet, can provide him that.
Taylor has so far remained undisputed in the Premier League. Apart from drawing his game against Lewis, he has won all of them in a devastating manner.
His upcoming encounters are against the current Premier League champion, Gary Anderson, which will then be followed by the Ladbrokes finalist, Andy Hamilton.
