Phil Taylor tired and exhausted after the McCoy’s Premier League Darts, what to expect from the 51-year-old magician?
Phil “The Power” Taylor may have proved that he is the best in the world of darts, yet, his age and injury have become a bad duo for his future.
It was an emotional sight when “The Power” lifted the 2012 McCoy’s Premier title and wowed fans all over the globe.
The noticeable aspect of Taylor’s performance throughout the McCoy’s Premier League was his discomfort. He appeared frail and somewhat less enthusiastic while playing.
One incident caught the camera’s eyes when Taylor went down to pick up his dart. While going up, he made an impression which showed pain. Later on in an interview, he accepted having a back problem that caused him tremendous amount of pain throughout the
play-offs.
“I pulled my back a couple of weeks ago and I'm hurting a little bit, I can't seem to straighten up and I'm trying everything. I'm stretching and I'm taking painkillers” said Taylor after the tiring face-off against the Australian Simon Whitlock.
It is said that Taylor might go through a back surgery to rectify the pain that could have cost him his Premier League title. This news caused a chill down the spines of Taylor’s thousands of fans who consider him an idol.
Taylor is now 51-years-old. His age is also a major factor for his less entertaining performance lately. He agreed to the fact that Whitlock played better than him in the final. He appreciated his nine-dart finish in the match which was something being expected
from “The Power”.
“I felt shattered. I don't know what's the matter with me. It's horrible when you're getting older. A couple of years ago I played a lot better, but I can see now it's taken its toll on me a little bit and I've got to do everything right over the next few
years of my career” said Taylor.
His age may be treating him in a harsh and realistic manner, yet, Phil Taylor still remains the best in the business and continues to surprise fans all over the world with his magic and resiliency in the game of darts.
Whether he plays or not, he is the greatest entertainer the darts world has ever seen.
