Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor wins the German Darts Championship, all hail, the king has risen!
“The Power” of darts is back and this time, it is beyond any victory or milestone that the 15-time world champion has achieved.
Phil Taylor has won his first European Tour event at the German Darts Championship in Berlin. It was a sight watching the best darts player in the world hitting not one, not two, but seven 180’s in the magical final against Dave Chisnall.
Taylor has been in misery in the last month and could not pull off a victory in 2 major fixtures – The Players Championship and the UK Open.
The Players Championship saw “The Power” tired and exhausted. He was not half the man he was at the McCoy’s Premier League, where he won the League with a stunning performance against the Australian wizard, Simon Whitlock.
After the Players Championship, the UK Open was another disappointment, where Taylor lost at the hands of Robert Thornton, a rookie who was thought to lose against “The Power”.
His first win in Europe has proved that Phil Taylor remains the toughest darts magician on the planet. His form and his consistency are magical and he is undoubtedly, the undisputed king of darts.
Taylor was delighted after grasping his first European Tour victory and seemed happy with the form he is taking to the World Matchplay later this July.
“I'm delighted to have won this, Dave's played some great darts throughout the weekend so I knew I'd have to be at my best in the final and it's great to win. It's a fantastic way to set myself up for the World Matchplay,” said Taylor.
Dave Chisnall felt honoured to have played with an icon and held Taylor in the highest regard as one of the finest darts professional.
“It feels great to have reached the final but Phil was too good in the end, it’s always an honour playing Phil and the atmosphere was great,” said Chisnall.
Taylor finished with an amazing average of 106.82.
The World Matchplay hits July 21. “The Power” has never been this good in his entire career. His wrath is causing chills down every other darts professional’s spine, as no one wants to play against the mighty Phil Taylor, congratulations Phil Taylor!
