Philadelphia 76ers lead the Boston Celtics 22-19 in Game 6 – First Quarter Breakdown: NBA Playoffs 2012
The Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semi Final series between the Boston Celtics and the Philadelphia 76ers is on its way at the Wells Fargo Center in Pennsylvania. Both sides have been able to keep the scoring close so far with
the first quarter of the game time already gone by.
The Sixers currently hold a three point lead over the C`s with the score line being 22-19. Jrue Holiday has been the leading scorer for the Sixers in this period with 6 points so far. He has been followed up by Elton Brand, who
has chipped in with 4 points after the first quarter.
For the visiting Boston team, the captain Paul Pierce is leading the way with 7 points to with 5 of those points coming from the charity stripe. Brandon Bass has followed him up with 6 points to go along with 4 rebounds so far
in the game. Ray Allen, who is starting only for the second time in this series, has managed 4 points.
The surprising fact of the game is that Rajon Rondo has only managed 2 points after the first twelve minutes of the game. That to an extent can be expected but the astonishing thing is that Rondo has not been able to record an
assist to his name so far in the game.
Boston, have held a slight upper hand in the rebounding department in this quarter, having grabbed 11 boards as compared to 10 by the Philadelphia team. The C`s also hold the upper hand on the offensive glass as they have managed
to grab 3 offensive boards as compared to Philadelphia`s 1.
The whole Sixers team have shot the ball 9-of-17 from the field with a conversion rate of 52.9% and have also shot the ball 4-of-6 from the free throw line.
On the other hand, the Celtics have shot the ball just 30% from the field but have been able to knock down all seven of their attempts from the free throw line.
The game started with Allen Iversion handing over the game ball. He was greeted by a rapturous ovation.
