For the Nets, it was their 5th consecutive loss, not the happiest of notes to sign off in their last game ever at New Jersey. The Nets will be moving to Brooklyn before the start of next season and will be calling the
Barclays Center their home.
Even though the Nets out rebounded the Sixers 35-33, but the visiting side made up for it by their assertiveness from inside the paint as they outscored their hosts 44-26 in that department.
New Jersey`s only lead of the night came in the start of the first quarter when they led by 3-0. From that point onward, it was all Philadelphia. They started off with a 15-2 run to establish a foot hold in the game and never looked
back.
Sixers were able to quickly take their advantage into double-figures and after the first 12 minutes were leading by 31-18. A similar script was followed in the second quarter as the Sixers found it very easy to convert possession
into baskets. The Nets were able to get the advantage down to 8 deep, 48-36, but that was as close as it got in the first half.
On the last possession for Philadelphia, Brand was able to gather a rebound and put it back in to take the lead back to double figures, the score 53-43 in Sixers favour.
Some end to end action early in the third quarter saw the Sixers stay ahead by 10 inside the first four minutes. Iguodala slipped in a pair from the stripe to make it 61-49, but in the next four minutes, the Nets decided to turn
things around in their favour. They managed to put together a 13-2 run, capped by a turnaround jumper from Gerald Wallace, to make this one a 1 point game at 62-63.
However the Sixers put an end to that rally with 6 unanswered points to regain control of the game. In the final two minutes of the third quarter, the Sixers were able to maintain their advantage and were leading 76-68 before going
into the fourth.
